Known for his celebrity clients as well as his passion for illuminating the unexpected beauty in each of their faces, Tommy Cyr is a hair and makeup artist at the top of his game in Hollywood. Whether he's going for a fresh-faced look for a runway show for New York fashion week, a mystic visage for Vanity Fair or a hairstyle for the Oscar red carpet, Tommy's unique background in art and theater contributes to the overall effect of raw glamour so consistent in his work.
A performer at heart, Tommy got his introduction to makeup while performing in the Ice Capades. Figure skating was his first passion. While skating in the show, he discovered his other talent by sneaking in the girls' dressing room to do their makeup. After years of performing in shows, the small-town boy from the province of Quebec took on Las Vegas. His theatrical background helped him get into Cirque du Soleil 'Mystere,' where he performed makeup for the artists in the show.
Hungry for more from the industry, Tommy moved to Los Angeles and decided to go to cosmetology school to add hairstyling to his repertoire. He trained closely with Jeanine Lobell, creator of Stila Cosmetics, and worked with her on numerous projects. Tommy now has versatility in his art. Whether it is performing hairstyling for "Access Hollywood," working on an award show, a celebrity wedding, or music videos by such artists as Britney Spears, Duran Duran, Enrique Iglesias, the Pussycat Dolls and Celine Dion, he brings his love of design and art to each job he performs.
Photographers and fashion icons, including David LaChapelle, Tony Duran and Tom Ford, have used his skills on photo shoots, and Los Angeles Magazine named him one of the best in their "101 Things We Love About L.A." issue.
Tommy is one of the leading hair and make-up artists working in Hollywood today.
